Agreement

By using Brisbane Ferry (the "Service") — whether via the website at brisbaneferry.com / ferry.lifemap.au, or the iOS app — you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

What the Service is

Brisbane Ferry is a small community-built app that displays schedules and real-time positions for Brisbane's CityCat and CityHopper ferry services. Live data is sourced from TransLink's publicly published feeds.

The Service is independent of and not affiliated with TransLink, Translink Transit Authority, Queensland Transport, the Queensland Government, the Brisbane City Council, or any ferry operator. Use of branding, stop names, and route identifiers is purely nominative for the purpose of describing a public transport service.

Accuracy of information

Always check TransLink's official website or app before travelling, particularly for connecting services, late-night trips, and times of disruption. The Service is for informational convenience only. We make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

Permitted use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use by individual travellers. You are welcome to:

• Use the website and app to plan your own ferry journeys.
• Share links to the Service with other people.
• Submit feedback via the in-app form.

Prohibited use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data from the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app for commercial purposes.
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws.
• Attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or the servers it depends on.
• Redistribute proprietary TransLink data obtained via this app in violation of TransLink's own terms of use.
• Misrepresent yourself as the operator, owner, or official voice of Brisbane Ferry.

Third-party services

The Service depends on several third-party services that each have their own terms:

• TransLink — for schedule and real-time data. See translink.com.au for terms governing their data.
• Vercel — hosting.
• Apple — if you installed the iOS app, Apple's App Store Terms also apply.
• Capacitor — the open-source framework used to wrap the web app as an iOS app.

We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

Trademarks and fair use

Names and logos of third parties (TransLink, CityCat, CityHopper, Brisbane City Council, etc.) remain the property of their respective owners. Any appearance in this Service is for descriptive purposes only.

References to the Bluey and Bingo CityCat wraps are factual — those specific ferry vessels are wrapped in Bluey character liveries by the Brisbane City Council. The Service uses simple character icons to help users identify those vessels on the map. This is nominative fair use; Brisbane Ferry is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Ludo Studio, BBC, or any rights-holder.

Disclaimer of warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainer of Brisbane Ferry shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service — including, without limitation, missed connections, missed appointments, trip delays, data loss, or business interruption — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the maintainer of Brisbane Ferry from any claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when a material revision is made. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. You can also stop using the Service at any time — uninstall the app, clear browser data, and no obligations persist.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising from use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Queensland.
